Scientific Atainta Prisma I Modem Card
The Prisma™ I modem card is AM’s status monitoring solution for Scientific Atlanta’s Prisma I™ headend equipment. The Prisma I modem card is part of AM’s family of headend monitoring solutions and will work in conjunction with AM’s OmniMCU™ Headend Controller. The Prisma I modem card plugs into the ISA backplane of the AM OmniMCU and monitors the Prisma I equipment through a serial interface cable. This modem card is an intelligent communications card that exchanges data between the Prisma I devices and the Omni2000™ status monitoring software. Prisma I device parameters can be remotely monitored and configured from the Omni2000 software system. Since the main program is stored in flash memory, it can be remotely upgraded through the Omni2000 software with ease. The Prisma I card can be ordered either with the OmniMCU or it can be ordered separately. If it will be added to an existing OmniMCU, a short installation procedure will be provided to configure and install the card. Multiple Prisma I shelves can be daisy-chained and connected to one Prisma I modem card. To simplify the wiring, the Prisma I card provides two built-in RS-485 ports to reduce the run of daisy-chained equipment.
