The 9362C is a status monitoring transponder for power supplies, employing DOCSIS® technology for communications over an RF network. This approach leverages the cable system’s existing DOCSIS Communications infrastructure to provide a cost-effective, interoperable monitoring solution. The transponder is fully interoperable with virtually any power supply that has a status monitor interface, and with any SNMP Manager. A uniquely versatile solution, the Model 9362C supports both HMS and proprietary interface power supply applications. The unit features an SCTE-25-3 interface for HMS-compliant power supplies, and a generic multiconductor interface for power supplies not equipped with the HMS interface.
The 9362C transponder is fully compliant with the SNMP power supply monitoring MIBs specified in the HMS standards. This feature facilitates operation with any network management software system that supports HMS Monitoring.
The transponder is supported by AM’s Omni2000™ Management System. Omni2000 supports monitoring of DOCSIS, HMS, AM Protocol and other Legacy Protocol transponders and headend devices from a single system.
AM’s BOSS™ (Broadband Operation Support System) software products can utilize the 9362C to provide
advanced system power management capabilities. The 9362C also contains an embedded Web server that
allows read-only monitoring of the power supply from a Web browser, providing convenient remote access.
Additionally, the transponder provides detailed monitoring information about RF levels, error rates and
other information available from the DOCSIS SNMP monitoring MIBs. The rugged metal housing of the 9362C facilitates both durability and convenience; flanges on either side of the unit provide a secure mounting bracket for quick installation. Front panel LEDs indicate power, RF communications with the CMTS, and CMTS registration.
Power supplies monitored by the 9362C include the following:
Alpha XM2 Lectro ZTT
Alpha XM Lectro ZTT
Alpha AM AP Lectro Sentry II
ANTEC/APC Lectro CPR
Powerguard MultiPower And any power supply with an HMS-022 compliant interface
Additional power supplies are supported; please contact AM Networks for more information. Omni2000 and BOSS are trademarks of AM Networks, Inc. CableLabs and DOCSIS are trademarks of Cable Television Laboratories, Inc.
